AquaDose Privacy Policy

1. What the App Stores on Your Device

AquaDose is a local-first app. The following is stored only on your device, using the operating system's standard app storage:

• Pool profile information you enter (name, volume, shape).
• Water readings you enter manually (pH, free chlorine, alkalinity, cyanuric acid, calcium hardness, salt).
• Calculated dosing recommendations produced from those readings.
• Treatment logs and notes you save.

You can remove this data at any time from Settings > Reset data, or by deleting the app from your device.

2. What We Collect

AquaDose does not require an account. Your pools, readings, and dosing history stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Anonymous usage analytics. AquaDose sends a small amount of anonymous app-usage data to our server. This consists of:

• a random identifier generated when you install the app — it is not Apple's advertising identifier, and deleting and reinstalling produces a new one;
• the app opening and closing;
• your platform, app version, language setting, and time-zone offset.

This is used only to understand how many people use AquaDose and how often. It is not linked to your identity, is never sold, and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Optional sign-in. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address, your name and email are stored on your device only. We do not operate a login server and never receive them. Signing in with Apple or Google means that provider handles the sign-in request under its own privacy policy.

We do not collect phone numbers, precise location, health data, contacts, photos, or biometric data.

3. Third Parties and SDKs

AquaDose does not use third-party analytics SDKs, attribution SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or cloud sync. The usage analytics described above are first-party and go only to our own server.

The current release also includes:

• Google's mobile ads library, bundled for a future ad-supported free tier. No ad network is active in this release and no advertising identifiers are collected. The in-app ad space shows an AquaDose placeholder.
• Apple platform billing for the optional auto-renewing “Remove ads” subscription. Apple processes that transaction; we never receive your payment details.

4. Affiliate Program Disclosure

Some product recommendations shown in the app include affiliate links. If you make a purchase after tapping one, AquaDose may earn a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. Commissions support ongoing development.

Product recommendations are chosen on the basis of pool chemistry fit for the reading you entered. Affiliate status does not influence the dosing math, the amounts recommended, or the order in which chemicals are suggested. The dosing engine is deterministic and does not consult any affiliate feed.

5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Notice

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request deletion. Because AquaDose stores your pool data on your device rather than on our servers, the fastest way to delete it is Settings > Reset data, or deleting the app. For the anonymous analytics described in section 2, contact us at the address below.

6. Children

AquaDose is a general-audience utility. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Advisory Disclaimer

AquaDose provides pool care guidance only. It is not a substitute for professional water testing or a certified pool operator. Always follow chemical product labels, never mix chemicals, keep chemicals away from children and pets, and retest water after treatment.

8. Changes to This Policy

If AquaDose later adds accounts, cloud sync, active advertising, or any other feature that expands what data is collected or shared, we will update this policy before those features ship, and change the version and effective date above.
