AquaDose Privacy Policy

1. What the App Stores on Your Device

AquaDose is a local-first app. The following is stored only on your device, using the operating system's standard app storage:

• Pool profile information you enter (name, volume, shape).
• Water readings you enter manually (pH, free chlorine, alkalinity, cyanuric acid, calcium hardness, salt).
• Calculated dosing recommendations produced from those readings.
• Treatment logs and notes you save.

You can remove this data at any time from Settings > Reset data, or by deleting the app from your device.

2. What We Collect

AquaDose does not require an account. Your pools, readings, and dosing history stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Anonymous usage analytics. AquaDose sends a small amount of anonymous app-usage data to our server. This consists of:

• a random identifier generated when you install the app — it is not Apple's advertising identifier, and deleting and reinstalling produces a new one;
• the app opening and closing;
• your platform, app version, language setting, and time-zone offset.

This is used only to understand how many people use AquaDose and how often. It is not linked to your identity, is never sold, and is not shared with our ad provider or used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Advertising in the free version is handled separately by Google, as described in section 3.

Optional sign-in. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address, your name and email are stored on your device only. We do not operate a login server and never receive them. Signing in with Apple or Google means that provider handles the sign-in request under its own privacy policy.

We do not collect phone numbers, precise location, health data, contacts, photos, or biometric data.

3. Third Parties and SDKs

AquaDose does not use third-party analytics SDKs, attribution SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or cloud sync. The usage analytics described above are first-party and go only to our own server. The current release (AquaDose 1.1.2) also includes the two services below.

Advertising: Google AdMob

The free version of AquaDose is supported by ads served by Google AdMob, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Ads are currently shown in the iOS app, in two formats:

• a banner at the bottom of the screen; and
• an occasional full-screen (interstitial) ad after you save a reading or log a treatment, shown no more than once every three saves and no more than once every five minutes.

What Google receives. According to Google's published disclosures, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:

• device identifiers — on iPhone, Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) is available to Google only if you allow tracking (see below);
• your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general (not precise) location;
• advertising data and interactions, such as which ads you have seen and whether you tapped them;
• performance data, such as app launch time; and
• diagnostic information, such as crash logs.

Google uses this information to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and detect fraud and abuse, and, where you have allowed it, to personalize ads. AquaDose does not pass your pools, water readings, dosing plans, treatment logs, name, or email address to the ads SDK, and they are not used to choose the ads you see. Tracking permission (iPhone). The first time AquaDose starts, iOS asks whether you allow the app to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Google may use your advertising identifier to show personalized ads. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” the advertising identifier is not shared and you will still see ads, which are not personalized using that identifier.

Consent in certain regions. Before ads load, AquaDose uses Google's User Messaging Platform to check whether consent for ad data use is required where you are (for example, in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom) and shows Google's consent form when one applies.

Your choices.

• On iPhone, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking to turn tracking off for AquaDose, or turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track” for all apps.
• To limit ad personalization across Google services, visit My Ad Center. On Android devices, you can also delete or reset your advertising ID under Settings > Google > Ads.
• The optional “Remove ads” subscription stops ads from being shown in AquaDose. The Google Mobile Ads SDK is still started when the app opens.

Payments: Apple

Apple platform billing handles the optional auto-renewing “Remove ads” subscription. Apple processes that transaction; we never receive your payment details.

4. Affiliate Program Disclosure

Some product recommendations shown in the app include affiliate links. If you make a purchase after tapping one, AquaDose may earn a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. Commissions support ongoing development.

Product recommendations are chosen on the basis of pool chemistry fit for the reading you entered. Affiliate status does not influence the dosing math, the amounts recommended, or the order in which chemicals are suggested. The dosing engine is deterministic and does not consult any affiliate feed.

5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Notice

We do not sell personal information for money. The free version of AquaDose shows ads from Google AdMob. If you allow tracking on your device, Google may use your advertising identifier and the other information described in section 3 to personalize ads, which California law may treat as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can stop this at any time by turning off tracking for AquaDose in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or by using the other choices listed in section 3.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request deletion. Because AquaDose stores your pool data on your device rather than on our servers, the fastest way to delete it is Settings > Reset data, or deleting the app. For the anonymous analytics described in section 2, contact us at the address below.

6. Children

AquaDose is a general-audience utility. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Advisory Disclaimer

AquaDose provides pool care guidance only. It is not a substitute for professional water testing or a certified pool operator. Always follow chemical product labels, never mix chemicals, keep chemicals away from children and pets, and retest water after treatment.

8. Changes to This Policy

If AquaDose adds accounts, cloud sync, new advertising partners or ad formats, or any other feature that expands what data is collected or shared, we will update this policy and change the version and effective date above.
