Reorder stops on a route

Drag-and-drop reordering plus algorithm-picked default order.

Route order matters: a small reorder can save 30 minutes of driving across a 12-stop day. PoolStamp gives you two ways to set order — algorithm-driven and manual.

Algorithm-driven (default)

When you add customers to a route plan, PoolStamp puts them in roughly the order you added them. Tap Optimize order to let the routing algorithm pick the order that minimizes total drive time from your starting location through every stop.

The algorithm respects the starting location you set. If you start your day at the shop, the first stop will be the closest customer to the shop. If you start at home, the first stop will be closest to home.

Manual drag-and-drop

In the web admin route planner, drag any stop up or down in the list. The total drive time estimate updates as you move. The mobile app supports the same drag-and-drop via a long-press on the stop row.

Pin a stop

If you want stop #1 to always be a specific customer (commercial property that has to be done at 7am, say), pin it. Tap the customer in the list and choose Pin to position 1. When you next click Optimize order, that customer stays in slot 1 and the rest get reordered around them.

You can pin multiple positions. Useful for routes with hard time windows at both ends.

What about traffic?

PoolStamp's drive time estimates are based on Mapbox's typical-day data, not real-time traffic. For predictable suburban routes that's fine. For commute-hour urban routes, expect 10-20% variance.

Real-time traffic-aware optimization is on the roadmap.
