Recording chemical readings

Presets, custom chemicals, units, and how readings show on the receipt.

Chemical entry is the most-used screen in PoolStamp on a typical visit. We designed it for one-handed use in the truck with sun glare on the screen.

The presets

PoolStamp ships seven chemicals as one-tap presets:

These cover ~90% of real-world entries. Tap one, enter the amount, save.

Custom chemicals

For algaecide, phosphate remover, calcium chloride, or anything else: tap Custom at the bottom of the preset list. Enter the chemical name, amount, and unit (we support gallons, ounces, pounds, tabs, scoops, and quarts). Custom chemicals you've entered before show up at the top of your custom list for one-tap reuse.

Per-customer preferences

If a specific customer always uses a particular brand (Nature2 cartridges, BioGuard sticks), set it on the customer record under Pool spec → Chemical preferences. That preference appears at the top of the chemical picker for that customer's visits.

What the customer sees

The receipt email shows a table:

ChemicalAmount
Liquid Chlorine2 gallons
Muriatic Acid0.5 gallons

The table is bilingual based on the customer's language preference. Custom chemicals appear with the name you typed.

Dose recommendations

PoolStamp does not yet recommend doses based on pool volume and water test readings — that's a Phase 2 feature called "AI chemical dosing recommendations" (OQ-07 on the product roadmap). For now, dose is up to the tech.
