Chemical entry is the most-used screen in PoolStamp on a typical visit. We designed it for one-handed use in the truck with sun glare on the screen.
The presets
PoolStamp ships seven chemicals as one-tap presets:
- Liquid Chlorine (gallons)
- Chlorine Tabs (tabs)
- Muriatic Acid (gallons)
- Soda Ash (pounds)
- Baking Soda (pounds)
- Stabilizer (pounds)
- Salt (pounds)
Tap one, pick a preset amount or enter a custom amount, and save.
Custom chemicals
For algaecide, phosphate remover, calcium chloride, or anything else: tap Other at the bottom of the preset list. Enter the chemical name, amount, and unit. Current custom units are pounds, ounces, gallons, tabs, milliliters, and liters.
Per-customer preferences
If a specific customer has equipment or service notes that affect chemical work, store them on the customer record. The dosing recommender also reads the saved pool profile when it decides whether it has enough information to calculate a recommendation.
What the customer sees
The receipt email shows a table:

The table is bilingual based on the customer's language preference. Custom chemicals appear with the name you typed.
Dose recommendations
PoolStamp can suggest dose adjustments from readings entered in the dosing panel. Tap Suggest doses and PoolStamp returns a status plus any recommended chemical amounts, which you can add straight to the visit record after accepting the responsibility acknowledgement.
Two limits you need to know before you rely on it:
- Pool volume is required for computed doses. If PoolStamp does not have enough pool profile data, it returns an insufficient-input status instead of guessing.
- The tech is the decision-maker. The recommendation is a starting point. You are responsible for the dose you actually add, and PoolStamp stores the difference between what was recommended and what you logged.
If the panel says recommendations are unavailable, that means PoolStamp could not produce one — it does not mean the water is in range. Read your test results yourself in that case.
The current dosing engine is deterministic and AquaDose-derived; any optional AI text is explanatory only and does not choose the dose.
