Update your billing card
PoolStamp bills via Stripe, so card management lives in Stripe's customer portal. You get to it from PoolStamp with one tap.
How to update
- Sign in to app.poolstamp.com
- Settings → Billing → Manage payment methods
- You'll bounce to Stripe's hosted billing portal — fully encrypted, never sees your card number
- Add a new card, set it as default, or remove an old one
- Close the tab when done — changes apply immediately
Adding a backup card
If your business credit card sometimes hits its limit, add a personal card or business debit card as a backup. Stripe will try the default card first; if it fails, it tries each backup in order before marking the subscription as past-due.
When a payment fails
- Stripe automatically retries the card 3 times over 7 days
- You get an email after the first failure ("payment failed; we'll try again")
- Your PoolStamp account stays active during the retry window
- If all retries fail, your account moves to Past due state — you can still sign in but new visits can't send receipts until you update the card
Past due → resolved
Add a working card via the billing portal. The next retry succeeds, and your account is back to Active within minutes.
Cancellation vs failed payment
These are different states:
- Failed payment = card declined, account paused, can be resolved by updating the card
- Cancellation = you explicitly cancelled. Account stays active until end of current billing period, then closes
You can resume from either state.
Annual billing
If you want to pay annually for a small discount, reply to a PoolStamp email or use Contact support. We'll set up an annual subscription on Stripe for you. (Self-serve annual is on the Phase 2 roadmap.)
